Gaggia Accademia - Machine not completing rinse cycle

Question
There is no water coming through on the rinse cycle after start up. The machine then displays 'water circuit priming' then tries to rinse again. It will do this many times before I press the stop button - then behaves normally? Is this a common problem - how is it fixed? I have no problem taking the machine apart myself.
Expert Answer
In case the machine is working normally afterwards, then try rotating the knob on the coffee dispenser while the machine is rinsing. The valve might be stuck. Also make sure that the brew unit, especially the shower disc and the valve are clear of coffee residue. If You have done all this and the problem still remains, then it might be, that a lack of pressure is causing the symptom. The cause can be either limescale or a faulty pump.
